A Servant’s Apron aspires to simplicity in the kitchen to bring you delicious  and seasonal recipes and food ideas. The best dishes come from simple ingredients and are kind to your Budget. We begin this forum in the chill and hush of winter. The body and soul  seek warmth and comfort at the table so A Servants Apron offers you a variety of ten minute luscious soups. An Immersion blender will help you best achieve any of these combinations for lunch or a simple dinner.

Frozen broccoli, Asparagus, Cauliflower, or even corn from 10 oz pkgs. Combine with any flavor of commercial or homemade stock at 14 ounces to give you pronto soup. Add small pinches of spices and/or dried herbs to flavor up. Cover the saucepan and bring to high heat. Blend until smooth. A few tablespoons of sour cream will enrich your soup. Grated cheese, olive oil drizzle or croutons will top-off these offerings well. Try frozen winter squash with pumpkin pie spice and or a touch of curry powder. Corn and chili powder will give you a southwestern chowder. Cooked/seasoned meats and other proteins can be added to create a hearty dinner.

. . just don’t forget the crusty rolls or bread  .

A Servant’s Apron will visit you next as the Lenten season arrives to feed you simply and well.
