Contraception 1

Contraception is one of the most vexed issues in the Church today. Most Catholics simply ignore the Church’s teaching on the matter and most Protestants have never even considered the possibility that there’s even an issue to consider.
At this moment, I’m not going to give a philosophical argument against contraception (although such an argument can be given). Instead, I would just like to ask you to consider one, possibly alarming, fact. Those who consider themselves pro-life and use the birth control pill need to realize that that pill may cause them to have an abortion without even knowing it.
You see, most of the time, the birth-control pill prevents pregnancy by preventing a woman from ovulating. Sometimes, however, she will ovulate anyway, in spite of taking the pill. When that happens, birth control pills revert to a kind of back-up plan by creating an inhospitable environment in the uterus, thus expelling any eggs that may have been fertilized.
Amazingly, many good and honest pro-life Christians do not know this. And so it is our job to tell them. It may be the most important news they ever hear.
