Living Bread Radio is an evangelical outgrowth of St. Raphael Center, Inc.In 1992 when St. Raphael Center was founded, one of our long range goals was to operate a Catholic Radio station to serve Northeastern Ohio. After commissioning a frequency search, we found that according to the FCC there were no new frequencies available.Consequently, it was necessary to buy a station which was already on the air. This idea was well beyond our resources at the time.So we decided that we would watch and pray.
In 2001 a two-hour daily time slot became available at an acceptable price on 1060AM in Canton. We contracted to buy this two-hour time slot - 12:00 noon - 2:00 PM Monday through Friday and broadcast "Catholic Answers" and "The Doctor Is In" with Dr. Ray Guarendi - two of the top-ranked Catholic radio shows in the country.1060AM is a 5,000 watt station based in Canton with coverage of well over one million souls.
In His time, the Lord saw fit for us to purchase AM 1060 in the spring of 2004 for fulltime Catholic programming. The station went one the air on July 1, 2004 at 6am. This is an exciting time for Northeast Ohio and we are confident that God will use AM 1060 to change hearts and save souls in our area.

The Mission of Living Bread Radio is to faithfully broadcast the message of Jesus Christ through the medium of radio. Our programming enlightens and educates listeners to the depth and richness of the Catholic Faith, encourages and inspires those already Catholic to learn more about the Faith and to pass on those teachings to their children. All programming and content is loyal to the teachings of the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. Living Bread Radio exists in response to the call of the Second Vatican Council to the laity to evangelize through the use of radio; to fulfill the call of Pope John Paul II for a New Evangelization and a New Springtime for the Church. Specifically Living Bread Radio lives out its mission through its programming, special station events, acts of worship and devotion and by encouraging active participation in the Holy Spirit’s work through this apostolate. |
