Living Bread Radio, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our funding comes from laity, religious and business leaders who believe in the power of media to make a difference in the world today.We are broadcasting "soul food" to a starving world.
Funding for our programming comes from two sources -- monthlypledges or lump-sum donations, and business sponsorships, similar to the funding of Public Broadcasting Stations (PBS), except that we receive no government money. Because Living Bread Radio, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, all donations are tax deductible.
The station manager and our staff solicit the support of potential major donors in the community. A major donation is considered any gift of $5,000 or more during one fiscal year.
One of the most successful methods in building audience awareness and paying for the operation of Living Bread Radio is parish pledge talks.A short seven minute talk is given at the end of Mass.The talk is designed to inform the parishioners of the new station and the need for funds.They are asked to fill in a pledge card that is placed in the pew.This method has been used around the country and has shown to be a very effective way to spread the news about Catholic radio.
Living Bread Radio AM 1060 started our pledge drive at area parishes in late January 2004. The station has been greatly blessed by the generous response of those who gave a one-time gift or pledged monthly support to help us realize this vision of Catholic radio in our area. To date, the pledge drive has raised more than $250,000.
