What is a Novena? How do you pray a Novena?
Simply put, a novena is a prayer that you pray for nine days. this can be nine consecutive days or as part of regular practice for an extended period of time (e.g. the Fridays of a month for nine months). There are many types of novenas: for example, novenas of preparation (before a fast day), petition (in times of need), mourning, penance, or indulgence. Some novenas may fall into more than one category.
All novenas consist of prayers. In prayer, we adore God, admit our failures, ask for forgiveness, offer thanksgiving, and ask God for our needs.
