Tuscarawas County Catholic Schools Visitation Day
The Tuscarawas County Catholic Schools will open their doors to visiting parents and students Monday, December 2. “We welcome visitors anytime, but want to extend a special invitation to parents and students thinking about the opportunities we can offer to come and visit on December 2,” said Matt Ritzert, principal of Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School and Immaculate Conception School. “Some of the area public schools will be closed that day so it’s a good time for the parents and students to visit and see us during a regular school day,” Ritzert added. Visiting parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with school administrators, tour the building, visit classrooms, and meet the staff and students.
The Tuscarawas County Catholic Schools include Tuscarawas Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School in New Philadelphia, Immaculate Conception School in Dennison, and Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School in Dover. The schools offer programs from pre-school through the 12th grade. Registration at all three schools for the 2020-21 school year will begin in January.
“We are open to all and we’re affordable. Our tuition rates are among the lowest in the state, more than 50% of our families receive scholarships and grants, and about 20% of our students come from non-Catholic faith traditions,” said Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School principal Jennifer Calvo. “Our doors are always open to prospective parents and students but there are many days around the holidays that we’re in session while other school districts may be closed. That creates a great time to see our schools up close and meet our students and staff,” Calvo added. Visitors can call any one of the schools to schedule a visit. School officials say visitors are welcome to visit for a few minutes or to spend the day and visit the classrooms.
