You’ll be glad to know, there are changes to IRA holders turning age 701/2 after 2019: The SECURE Act increases the age at which individuals must start taking Required Minimum Distribution (RMDs) to 72 from 70 1/2. However, the SECURE Act does not change the age at which individuals may begin to make Qualified Charitable Distributions. Even though an IRA holder turning 70 1/2 in 2020 will not have to take an RMD for 2020, they can still make a QCD from their IRA, up to the annual limit of $100,000.
