A native of Youngstown, Father Nicholas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Mancini.
Fr. Mancini received a B.S in Education from the University of the State of New York. He studied at Sacred Heart Seminary and Conway College in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, receiving a Master of Arts degree. He received his Master of Divinity from St. Mary Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He also completed studies in Sacred Liturgy and Sacred Music at The Uniersita di Siena in Siena Italy. He was ordained at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on May 3, 1975, by Bishop James Hogan.
After serving twenty-six years in the Altoona Diocese, he returned to the Diocese of Youngstown in 2001, serving at many different parishes in Canton, Geneva, Youngstown and Harrisburg.
Father Mancini was the spiritual advisor to St. Raphael Center and the Living Bread Radio Network for more than 20 years. His kindness and spiritual leadership were greatly appreciated by staff, volunteers and listeners. He retired from active ministry in 2018 but continued pastoral work for the next eight years; leading classes, offering Mass and recording radio programs that gave listeners a deeper understanding of the Catholic Faith. His happy smile, pleasant disposition, and strong voice will be greatly missed. May God welcome him into paradise and reward him abundantly. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.
